Core idea
Tracks funds moving between blockchains via bridges, atomic swaps, or cross-chain DEX aggregators. Correlates source-chain lock/burn events with destination-chain mint/release events to rebuild the path.
When to use
Traced funds disappear on one chain and reappear, matching value and timing, on another chain.
Example
Funds locked in a bridge contract on Ethereum are matched to a minting event of equal value and near-identical timing on another chain to rebuild the path. Law-enforcement note: bridge operators are increasingly treated as VASPs subject to AML rules and may be viable subpoena targets.
