View a Wallet’s Exposure with impersonator.xyz

tactic

Core idea

Tools like impersonator.xyz let you view a wallet’s own perspective on-chain, what tokens, approvals, and signatures it has been exposed to from someone else’s vantage point. This surfaces information hidden in the normal explorer view.

Components

  • Reveals stale approvals waiting to be drained.
  • Reveals signed but unbroadcast transactions.
  • Surfaces other latent risk indicators from the wallet’s own viewpoint.

When to use

Both to pre-empt drains (spotting live risk before it is exploited) and to reconstruct what a victim was actually exposed to during an investigation.

Example

Viewing a compromised wallet through impersonator.xyz shows a stale unlimited approval and a signed-but-unbroadcast transaction that the normal explorer view hides, explaining the pending drain vector and guiding remediation.
