Arkham for Attribution and Visualization
tactic
Core idea
Arkham (free at intel.arkham.com) is strong for entity attribution, relationship mapping, and alerts. Its top counterparties panel and visualizer reveal who an address deals with most and how entities connect, complementing the raw data from a block explorer.
Components
- Top counterparties: remove the seven-day filter to see the most-used counterparty over all time (for example 32 transactions to an exchange), which signals a subpoena opportunity.
- Visualizer: the focus address sits in a purple ring; green edges are inflows, red are outflows; click the plus icon on any node to expand its flows and reveal shared counterparties.
- Alerts: live notifications when watched addresses move.
- Relative time can be converted to an absolute date.
When to use
On a first pass of any crypto case to gather attribution quickly, to find an address’s main counterparties, and to map relationships visually.
Avoid when
You need to build the formal case chart or trace step by step. The transcript treats Arkham’s tracer as weak and prefers a block explorer plus a dedicated charting tool.
